Anybody Ever Wonder Where Naugahyde Comes From?

Answer: From Sumatra Naugas. Of course!

Ok this had me cracking up. I did a search in Snopes to fine strange things that have occurred in Wisconsin. I am trying to create a new weekly segment for all things Wisconsin.

Here is an actual call that someone received about the "Animal"

Years ago, I was on a telephone reference shift when this call came in: A woman, sounding a bit agitated, asked if I could give her some information about naugas — their gestation period and their status on the endangered species list, specifically. After a bit of cursory searching, I enlisted a few colleagues (who also had not heard of such an animal). Fifteen minutes later, we still had no answers. I got back on the phone and told the patron she could help narrow our search if she could at least tell us in which phylum or class naugas resided. She replied (with a heavy sigh), "Oh, you know — they're the animals they use to make naugahyde couches."

I still have yet to figure out what this has to do with Wisconsin but when I find out I will let you know.

And In Bed?

Ok, some of you may be familiar with the "and in bed" addition to your fortune when you have Chinese food. I went out to lunch with my uncle yesterday and I opened my fortune cookie and said "and in bed" after I read it. I then proceeded to explain it to him and he laughed. I have 2 examples one works and one doesn't so you can't always add it.

The bottom one was my daughters I had a good laugh with that one since she is 6 and there is never a day of peace in my house.

Movie Review of the Week

Strolling through Blockbuster trying to find something good to watch. Well 1st off I have had so many recommendations lately choosing was tough.

Duece Bigalow European Gigolo: It had a few laughs and I would rather nod discuss the parts that I laughed at. Let see these is one part with a tootsie roll my mother found extremely funny may I say she is easily entertained. If you liked the first one most likely you would like this one.

Crash: I thought this movie was really good. I showed all people have some sort of prejudice no matter who you are and all of the characters in some way or another seem to "crash" into each other I would highly recommend this movie.

I Am Counting on Getting Sunburned Later Today

Top 3 reasons I knew is was cold today.

1. I weigh 190 pounds and I was not sinking in the snow.

2. I turned my head to the side and my bottom lip stuck to my zipper.

3. My lined nylon track pants sounded like tissue paper.

I get to do it all over again tomorrow morning. Wisconsin is one of the few places I know where you can get frostbite and sunburn in the same day.

Bottled Water Drinkers Are Destroying The Planet

I trust the tap water I drink. Unless its in Waukesha. I'm still alive. I have had bottled water on occasion when I stop at the "Quickie" mart just because I am parched. Studies are showing that Its not any batter then tap water and It is swallowing up natural resources I know the "Tree Huggers" are going to jump on this bandwagon. Celebrity Stupidity At It's Best

We have to give Brittany Spears props!!! Well only for being stupid. I am a mother and I would never put my children in the car without being in the appropriate car seat. But to put your child in your lap.


Read the article and you will see just how truly stupid she is. She should get a ticket for child endangerment. Hey I know I survived with out seatbelts in the car when I was a kid but my family never put me on their lap. Life is to fragile to take such a risk.

New Bagel on The Blog

I want shopping Sunday at Push N Shove and found the coolest new bread. I really like bagels in the morning but once in a while I do enjoy making a sandwich with them.

Anyway I am in the bread isle to get the bagels and I spot these square things. Holy crap square bagels well bagel bread. I totally recommend them they are kinda soft like bread and taste like a bagel. From the picture it looks like they make other flavors too.

Movie Review: Dogma & Transporter 2

I know the first one has been out for a while. You have to realize that I have bee quite sheltered for the past 8 years so I am trying to catch up on what I missed.

Dogma - I'm am sorry If I offend any of you but this movie sucked Donkey Nuts. I don't know? Everybody I know has told me to see this movie. I don't get it. It might have been Ben Afleck or just the all over stupid plot or it could have been many other things. So far the only movie I have enjoyed by Kevin Smith has been Clerks.


Transporter: I liked the 1st one and this one was pretty good too. To those of you who may not have seen this rent it! The fighting sequences are pretty cool. It's amazing what one can do with some fire hose. Jason Statham makes kicking ass look really easy. I also enjoyed him in The Italian Job.

It will again probably be a slow blog day for me again today. I intend on watching The Wedding Crashers tonight and I know that one wont be disappointing. I love Vince Vaughn and yeah I like Swingers & Made it was soooooo MONEY!!

Ahhh... Spring is Coming

I was shopping this weekend and noticed that the stores are putting out their Easter stuff. Now I have not seen these yet but they are truly my favorite. Marshmallow peeps and Aaron if you don't like them too bad. I'm the person who takes them out of the package and lets them get hard. Yeah I know I am strange. I thought I would also share some other interesting yet creative ideas for those puffed goodies.

At adult parties my uncle and I would make the bunnies anatomically correct buy using the ears I think you all get the idea, we would eat the earless carcasses and put the finished product out on a nice plate to display.

Peep jousting for those of you who get bored at the office. Each person selects the color of their choice and put them on a paper plate trust me they won't be edible after this. Stick a tooth pick in each. Oh you can only use the chick peeps for this. Arrange them in a circle. Put them in the microwave for about 20 seconds and the last one standing is the winner you may want to stand and watch the process its comical. It may be hard to determine a true winner at times due to variances in microwave wattages. When I worked in the office we had a blast with this :)
